Also known as a photometric sphere or luminous flux sphere, it features one or more window ports on the sphere wall for light entry and sensor placement. The inner wall is coated with ideal diffuse materials like foamed PTFE or gold coatings, mixed with adhesive and sprayed uniformly. Magnesium oxide coatings exhibit a spectral reflectance of over 99% in the visible range, allowing the light entering the sphere to undergo multiple reflections and form uniform irradiance on the inner wall.

The GIP Series Gold-Coated Integrating Sphere adopts electrochemical plating technology to form a diffuse gold reflective coating, offering excellent stability. It achieves a typical diffuse reflectance above 94% in the infrared region (>1000 nm). When tested with a 10.6 μm CO? laser, its damage threshold reaches ~19.3 J/cm2. An optional water-cooling system can be integrated to further raise the maximum handling power.
